Renfield is almost out in theaters, but it has just made its way to PC, albeit in a different form. Skybound Entertainment has announced a Renfield video game called Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood, and it’s out now.
Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood is on Steam through early access for $4.99. No other platforms were announced, but developer Mega Cat Studios will be adding more content to the game over the summer.
Mega Cat described the title as a single-player roguelite with “one-touch gameplay” complete with dozens of enemy types and a few bosses, weapons, stages, and fetch quests that are meant to parallel those from the movie. With the bullet hell-esque chaos and upgrades (and vampire themes), the trailer echoes Vampire Survivors, one of the unexpected hits that took off in 2022.
Mega Cat Studios is also the studio behind the upcoming retro wrestling RPG Wrestlequest, which is coming out in May on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Founder of Mega Cat Studios James Deighan also spoke about the team’s expertise with retro games.
“Our team is so excited to bring our expertise in fun, retro-style games that are filled with wild humor to the amazing world of Renfield,” said Deighan. “It’s an incredible opportunity for us to be working on this with Skybound and Universal Games and Digital Platforms.”
