Speaking during a recent earnings call with investors, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer revealed that executives at the company were currently looking to expand on the John Wick series with a bigger video game project, and even said that the company has begun “fielding proposals” from potential partners.
“I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but we believe there is a big AAA game to be made out of John Wick,” Feltheimer said (transcription via Indiewire). “We have been fielding proposals. We certainly are interested in moving that forward, but I don’t want to say anything more about that at this time.”
The John Wick franchise is set to expand in a big way in the coming years, as the highly anticipated John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to release on March 24, 2023. Aside from that, a spin-off film starring Ana de Armas is also set to begin production this year, and a prequel series, The Continental, is also in the works for Peacock (with Amazon Prime Video to stream it internationally) with a planned debut of 2023 as well.
