Skydance New Media had previously said it was creating a Marvel game, but did not say what it would be. However, the studio took to the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase to confirm that it is developing a video game starring Black Panther and Captain America during World War II. It does not have a title, release window, or platforms as of yet, only a mysterious teaser.
The trailer is set to Vera Lynn’s 1939 song “We’ll Meet Again” and goes through Europe before panning over some Hydra documents. It then flashes “King,” “Captain,” “Soldier,” and “Spy” before showing Black Panther, Captain America, and two other heroes: Howling Commandos soldier Gabriel Jones and leader of the Wakandan Spy Network Nanali. The tagline also implies that there will be two locations. It will be a “narrative-driven, blockbuster action-adventure game,” with an original story that lets players play as each character at different points in the campaign.

The Black Panther in this game will be Azzuri, T’Chall’s grandfather. Its press release also states that players can anticipated “intuitive controls and exhilarating second-to-second gameplay that captures the action and excitement of Marvel, inspired by landmark comics, television, and films.” Amy Hennig, known for her work on the PlayStation 3 Uncharted trilogy, said that the game would be in the vein of those Uncharted games, but more inviting in a Q&A after the reveal. She also spoke about the game in general in the aforementioned press release.
“We’re so grateful for all the enthusiasm and support we’ve received from fans, and we’re thrilled to finally unveil a first glimpse of the game during this year’s D23 Expo,” she said. “Marvel has been an incredible partner throughout the creative process as we develop an original story and build an exciting new team of characters. We hope fans are intrigued by this sneak peek, and we’re excited to share more down the road.”
Marvel Games Vice President and Creative Director Bill Rosemann also shared his positive thoughts on the team and game.
“Our D23 Expo reveal is only the beginning of the action-packed adventure awaiting Marvel fans,” he said. “Amy and the Skydance New Media team have a deep love and respect for our characters, have poured themselves into the core comic book inspiration, and will harness their incredible storytelling skills to craft an all-new, thrilling narrative experience. Stay tuned over the next months as we’ll share additional looks at our four heroes, two worlds, and one war.”
