An action RPG based on popular anime and recent Toonami resident Made in Abyss will hit western shores on September 2. Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness lets players live out in the wild with fishing, gathering, and other activities in the great outdoors. Combined with a retelling of events from the show voiced fully in English and Japanese, it’s the perfect complement to the ongoing second season in Japan.
Game publisher Spike Chunsoft explains Binary Star Falling Into Darkness as such:
The story begins with Riko and Reg’s meeting in the first episode of season one. This marks the start of their great adventure, and together they travel to Seeker Camp in the second layer of the Abyss. Experience the awesome power of the Curse of the Abyss, as well as the astonishing, legendary entities known as primeval creatures. Prepare to glimpse the world of Riko and her friends.

As revealed in the trailer, the new Made in Abyss RPG will have two modes to explore. Hello Abyss is a standard anime retelling that doubles as a tutorial for new players, and this mode is where fans will meet their favorite characters and prepare for what is to come.
Meanwhile, Deep in Abyss mode casts you as a new Cave Raider eager to see how deep the Abyss goes. This mode centers around single-player exploration and has players grinding out missions and carefully preparing for each new spelunk. Spike Chunsoft promises a rich experience with appearances from original manga characters along the way.
Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness is set for release on September 2 across North America and Europe. Players on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC will have a chance to pick it up and explore everything the Abyss has to offer.
