Disney Dreamlight Valley OG Squid Lady

Disney Dreamlight Valley Early Access Release Date Announced

If you’ve always thought that Animal Crossing needed more singing mice, lions, and princesses, then the House of Mouse has just the thing for you. Disney Dreamlight Valley is a life simulation game starring popular characters from all of Disney and Pixar’s most popular animated films, and it’s launching into early access on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 6.

While the date was announced during Nintendo’s Direct Mini, Disney later stated the date was relevant to the other consoles and PC, too. The release date trailer also shows more of this Gameloft-developed, free-to-play game in action.

Players can enter Walt’s fairytale kingdom and meet beloved characters like Belle, Stitch, and even Mickey Mouse himself. The titular Dreamlight Valley is where all these characters lived in harmony until recently. Players are tasked with saving the fantasy kingdom from a nightmarish plague known as The Forgetting and restoring the memories of the Disney heroes and villains.

Each character has unique quests and activities to uncover, and users can befriend their favorite by giving them the perfect gifts. There’s also a complete set of customization options that range from trendy fashion to a colorful range of Mickey ears and other Disney-focused clothing.

While players will be wearing a range of clothing, Disney characters appear in their most classic designs, even if that means they’re tiny compared to the player character. The trailer shows a toy-sized Buzz Lightyear running next to a comparably humongous Donald Duck, and hopefully this ridiculousness is part of the Dreamlight Valley norm.
