During its latest day of Geeked Week, Netflix announced that a brand-new role-playing game set based on the Shadow and Bone series is coming.

The game, titled Shadow and Bone: Destinies, is a single-player “narrative RPG,” and will allow fans to dive into the incredibly popular fantasy novel series. Not too much information was confirmed, so it’s unknown exactly which books — if any — the games will adapt, or which characters will appear in the game, but it was noted that the game will focus heavily on narrative and that player’s decisions will impact the story.
Alongside the news of a new game, Netflix also confirmed that the second season of the television series has officially wrapped production, and will consist of eight hour-long episodes. There was no official news of a release date for the second season, however.

“Based on Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse novels, Shadow and Bone is set in a war-torn world and centers on orphan and lowly soldier Alina Starkov as she unleashes an extraordinary power that could be the key to setting her country free from the monstrous threat of Shadow Fold, though finds herself torn from everything she knows to train as part of the Grisha, an elite army of magical soldiers,” says the synopsis. “Struggling to get a grasp on her powers while avoiding a crew of charismatic criminals out to get her, Alina learns that allies and enemies might be one in the same and that nothing in the lavish world is what it seems.”
