A remaster of the 2013 JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle was announced during Sony’s State of Play presentation on Friday, bringing back a fan-favorite fighting game from one of the biggest hit anime. The updated game, called JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R, features what looks to be major graphical updates to the characters and backgrounds. The title is currently set to release sometime in 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in “early fall.”

In a PlayStation Blog post on the fighter, Bandai Namco noted that there will be a variety of modes included in the remaster, including All Star Battle Mode, Arcade Mode, Online Mode, Versus Mode, Practice Mode, and Gallery Mode. Likewise, players will have more than 50 playable characters to choose from, with fighters spanning all over the history of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. New audio recordings from the Part 6 anime voice actors were also done in order to get the most up-to-date vocals for the remaster.

The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting series began with All Star Battle in 2013, which developer CyberConnect2 followed up with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven, a title that was released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in 2015.
