Blizzard Entertainment has had quite an interesting couple of years due to many big staff departures, allegations of abuse, lengthy delays, and the impending acquisition. Its games haven’t been at the forefront of the news. However, Blizzard is changing that slightly by announcing its upcoming survival game.
We’re building a survival game in an all-new universe.

Blizzard revealed this untitled survival game out of nowhere by tweeting that it was trying to hire up for it. It will be based in an “all-new universe” so players shouldn’t expect that it will take place in the Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, or Overwatch worlds. It will feature a “place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be lived.”
The listing has a swath of art, design, and engineering jobs and states that the game is coming to PC and console. Blizzard admits that it is in the “early stage” of development so players shouldn’t expect any big updates in the future, especially given how Blizzard (usually) tends to take its time developing new titles. There was obviously no release window or list of specific platforms as those decisions are likely quite far off.

And while Blizzard was quite mum on the title, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier stated that “even some of the most disgruntled Blizzard employees rave about this game.”
