Marvel’s Midnight Suns is looking like one of 2022’s most exciting video game releases and it looks like it will have a star-studded cast. The first member of its voice crew to be revealed is Michael Jai White (Spawn, Black Dynamite), who will be voicing Blade in the game.
In a conversation with ComingSoon, White revealed that he’ll be voicing Blade in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, which is being published by 2K. The topic came up while discussing the legacy of Spawn and being the first Black superhero in a major motion picture.
“This superhero genre I’m still connected to. I got a chance to play Bronze Tiger, and I’m the new voice of Blade for the Marvel game, the 2K [one]. So it’s a great opportunity. I get to play these iconic superheroes.” When asked about his work on the upcoming game, White said it was “mainly voiceover work and some imagery stuff that they shoot,” so don’t expect a full motion-captured performance.

Developed by Firaxis Games, Midnight Suns will have strategy gameplay that is similar to fans. However, rather than playing like XCOM, it will use a card battle system in order to “reward clever thinking with superhero flair.” Playable characters shown off so far include Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Wolverine, Ghost Rider, and Blade. It was originally set to release in March 2022 but was delayed to the second half of the year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
