While CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 has had a bumpy road since its launch last year, one thing fans have continued to love in the game is Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand character.

Sitting down with The Verge for an interview, Reeves discussed the game, and just how much fans have loved him in the title. While first acknowledging that he doesn’t play games and has only seen demonstrations of Cyberpunk 2077, Reeves was then told about how fans had begun modding the game in order to allow themselves to have romantic encounters with Reeves’ Silverhand character.
To his credit, Reeves seemed pretty happy about the news, and went on to think of the economics of it all.
“Yes! Oh my god, it’s always nice when it’s nice,” said Reeves. “…Think of how much money is in porn, right? So you could not even have to be there and people could have digital sex with your digital avatar. What’s it called right now, for members only? You could do a whole thing. Oh my god, then you get the suit that’s probably made in Sweden or some German thing. And then you’ve got the VR thing … Then they’ve got the data on you with your arousal metrics, oh my gosh!”
While Carrie-Anne Moss — who was also taking part in the interview — said she wanted no part in anything like that, Reeves continued, looping things back to how the advent of virtual romantic relationships could end up giving people a deeper love of reality.

“So then you’re in the suit with arousal metrics through your members only metaverse X. And so then you like take everything off and then how do you feel about the relationships you’re in?” Reeves said. “But then you hold that real thing and you’re like, ‘Oh man, I’m so glad we have reality.'”
