Back 4 Blood succeeded with its hardcore focus on replayability and developer Turtle Rock Studios is further trying to make the game as replayable as possible through post-launch updates. Turtle Rock has finally gone into detail on its Back 4 Blood roadmap, revealing a suite of changes coming for free in future updates as well as what will be in its premium DLC.

The official Back 4 Blood Twitter account gave a quick summary of the game’s roadmap. In November, players can expect a variety of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements, but none were specified. December’s update will be much bigger, as it will have new Supply Lines, an area to practice fighting as the Ridden, a holiday seasonal event, improvements to solo offline progression (because there is none now), new cards, and brand-new card type. And presumably within the first few months in 2022, Turtle Rock is adding in a new difficulty, more player and corruption cards, and another co-op mode as well as nebulous quality-of-life improvements and “melee updates.” All of these updates will be free for everyone.

But Back 4 Blood also has a premium expansion pass with three expansions coming in 2022. The first is Tunnels of Terror, but the latter two don’t currently have titles or release dates. There will also be a variety of new cards, Cleaners, skins, weapons, activity types, and Ridden in the DLC. Turtle Rock has said in the past that not everyone in the party needs to have the DLC in order to play it, but it remains to be seen if that just applies to the levels or if that includes the non-level portions of the DLC, too (although it’s likely just the latter).
