In a brief look at some more new gameplay from the upcoming racing game, players are treated to how they’ll be able to customize some of the cars with different patches and ads.
“Liveries have been applied to racing cars ever since the 1970s,” said Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of the series. “These liveries have become iconic, inextricably linked with people’s memories of certain races.”
Yamauchi went on to note what he believes makes liveries so special when it comes to the upcoming game.
“I believe that using the livery editor turns a car into a blank canvas, a medium of expression,” said Yamauchi. “It’s essentially a place where players can express themselves. So, our main goal for us in creating the new livery editor is to improve usability and the ease of use for the gamers. It has been used to create several million liveries so far, and I’m constantly surprised at the creativity shown by the players.”
