Marcus Lehto, mostly known for co-creating Halo, is starting another studio. However, he will be working for Electronic Arts this time.
Hey everyone, I’m very excited to announce that I’ve joined @EA as a Game Director, building a new studio in the Seattle area working on first-person games. I can’t wait to share more about what we’re creating! pic.twitter.com/GnfVFNLSaW

Lehto announced his new venture on Twitter. He’ll be game director at this unnamed EA studio, which will be in the Seattle area and focus on first-person games; both of which can also describe Bungie, his former employer. Given how this is just an announcement of a studio, it will likely be quite some time until we see or hear more about its first game.

While Lehto is most famous for Halo, it’s not his most recent project. Lehto helped form V1 Interactive, which developed 2020’s Disintegration. The first-person shooter and strategy game hybrid failed to catch on and the game’s servers went offline less than six months after its launch. The studio folded in March 2021 after its first (and last) game.
