After breaking a Ubisoft record for first-day sales, Watch Dogs has just broken a few more. The game is now the best-selling new IP at launch across the entire videogame industry, with more than 4 million copies sold through in its first week. That also marks Watch Dogs as the best-selling game during week 1 for Ubisoft.
“With such strong sales momentum and positive feedback from gamers, ‘Watch Dogs’ has positioned itself as the must-have game of the moment,” said Tony Key, Ubisofts senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We’re really proud of this achievement, and are confident that the ‘Watch Dogs’ brand has a promising future.”
Watch Dogs also launched with a free companion app called ctOS Mobile. Since launch, ctOS Mobile has been downloaded and played by more than one million people.
