Double Fine took to social media on Friday to confirm the news that Psychonauts 2 has gone gold, marking the game officially ready for release later this month.
It’s been a long time coming, but Psychonauts 2 has officially gone GOLD.

In a brief message, the studio acknowledged the news and said that the game is available for both pre-order and pre-install on the Xbox Store now.
Psychonauts 2 will be launching on August 25, giving players the chance to dive into the game that’s been in development for some time. Just like nearly every other game revealed during the showcase, Psychonauts 2 will also launch on Xbox Game Pass, giving players even more reason to dive into the service.

The game, which is being developed by Double Fine, was initially announced years ago, with a crowdfunding effort on Fig launched in 2015. Since then, Microsoft has acquired Double Fine, but Psychonauts 2 will still be coming out for PlayStation 4 alongside Xbox platforms and PC.
