Norman Reedus Posts Weird Silent Hill 3 Video on Instagram

Many still correlate actor Norman Reedus with Silent Hill as he was set to play the protagonist in Hideo Kojima’s canceled entry in the series titled Silent Hills. And even though that game has been dead for years, Reedus has recently ventured into the foggy town once again in a weird video he posted on Instagram. In this short looping video, the Walking Dead star can be seen standing next to Robbie the Rabbit from Silent Hill 3. Just be warned that this video has a lot of flashing lights and might not be suitable for those with epilepsy.

The above video in question is only a few seconds long and only has the caption “G’nite” attached to it. He doesn’t even mention the series at all or his intent. While Robbie is also in the 2012 film Silent Hill: Revelation, he originally debuted in Silent Hill 3 when it released in 2003. That third installment probably isn’t coming back into the limelight any time soon since Konami lost the source code to the original, which makes this random video quite puzzling.

There have been plenty of rumblings about the Silent Hill series. Rumors had been swirling of Blair Witch and Layers of Fear developer Bloober Team making a Silent Hill game, which picked up even more steam after the developer announced a partnership with Silent Hill publisher Konami.

There have also been multiple reports saying there could be two different Silent Hill games in development, one of which being a soft reboot with the other being a Telltale-style entry. There were reports in March 2020 of Sony stepping in to help and possibly even trying to patch up the relationship between Kojima and Konami. According to that 2020 report, Sony’s Japan team was also said to be helping, but KatharsisT, an industry insider, has recently stated that the developer of Silent Hill has changed. Sony did recently shut down its Japan studio so if the two are connected, that could make sense.

However, it’s difficult to say what rumors are related since there are so many unknown factors here. There have even been other “insiders” that have been claiming that a Silent Hill reveal was just around the corner for over a year. Something related to the horror series likely happening, but it’s safer to wait for Konami to officially step in and announce something.
