Ubisoft developed an Avatar game around the release of the first film in 2009 and announced it was making another game in 2017 around the release of the second movie slated for December 2022. Now the publisher and developer has finally shown the mysterious game in question and announced its name: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It is coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Amazon Luna, and Stadia sometime in 2022. No specific date was announced and the game is not coming to PS4, Switch, or Xbox One.
The trailer was prepared in the game’s Snowdrop Engine, the same engine that powers both The Division and its sequel, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, and more. It went through the game’s alien world, showcasing both the Na’vi and humans. The Division developer Massive Entertainment is also handling the game, as was previously revealed, in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment (James Cameron’s production company) and Disney.
