Square Enix is reportedly currently working on a Guardians of the Galaxy game, according to industry insider and VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb.

During a recent stream on his Twitch channel, Grubb mentioned that he had heard that the company was working on the title, but was now ready to confirm that the game is real and will be made by Square Enix. No other information was mentioned during the stream, but it wouldn’t be the first time that Square Enix got to work on a Marvel game, as the company was also behind the recently released Marvel’s Avengers game.

With E3 2021 right around the corner, it also wouldn’t be shocking to get more information on a potential Guardians of the Galaxy game as well. Square Enix is expected to showcase some of its upcoming games at the digital conference, with many fans excited for the upcoming Final Fantasy 16 among other titles.
While Marvel’s Avengers didn’t receive the praise that many thought it would, a Guardians of the Galaxy game could work, depending on what type of tone and genre Square Enix decides to go with. Regardless of whether or not a game is shown off, we’ll likely know more in the coming weeks, especially as more and more gaming conferences take place.
