On May 20, 2021, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be hosting an 80s Action Heroes event, which will see limited-time bundles, game modes, and more rewards join Season Three Reloaded of both Black Ops Cold War and the Warzone mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. In this mode, two of the biggest action heroes of the 80s, John McClane and Rambo, will be joining the fray.
McClane, the iconic hero played by Bruce Willis in the Die Hard franchise, will be available at launch and can be purchased in the Die Hard bundle in the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Store from May 19 to June 18. The bundle includes the Legendary Operator, a Finishing Move, three Legendary Weapon Blueprints – one tactical rifle, two SMG, and one assault rifle – a Legendary Calling Card and Emblem, and an Epic Watch and Charm.
John Rambo, the iconic hero from the Rambo franchise, will also be available starting on May 19 and can be purchased in his own Rambo bundle. This bundle includes the Legendary Operator, two finishing moves, including one using his signature bow and arrow, three Legendary Weapon Blueprints – an assault rifle, an LMG, and a Knife blueprint – a Legendary Calling Card and Emblem, and an Epic Watch and Charm.
Alongside the two operators, players will also be able to explore the massive Nakatomi Plaza from the original Die Hard in Warzone. The area will also feature optimal missions that can be completed for in-game rewards. As for the Rambo connection, several areas in Warzone’s Verdansk have been converted into Survival Camps as an homage to the series. Players can scavenge these eight areas for different loadout items and dog tags, which can then be spent at a new CIA Outpost in northwest Verdansk.
