The 10th annual BlizzCon opened yesterday in Anaheim, California. BlizzCon is an epic celebration of Blizzard Entertainment’s game universes (the company created the World of Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft, Hearthstone, and Overwatch video games) and the communities that bring them to life. This year marks Blizzard’s 25th anniversary and the convention is taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center from Friday, November 4 to Saturday, November 5.
Day one featured the annual opening ceremony (no new game announcements, but plenty of updates to existing titles), e-sports competitions, developer panels, and of course, plenty of BlizzCon cosplay.

The BlizzCon cosplay included full body armor, sculpted masks, fierce furries, enormous wings, elements that light up, and even a guy on a papier-mâché hippogryph! Check out some of the best costumes we saw on day one, and come back tomorrow for another gallery of amazing costumes.
