Following the unauthorized short film that debuted last week, including much fanfare and legal brouhaha, producer Adi Shankar (Dredd, The Punisher: Dirty Laundry) has released a behind-the-scenes look at his latest “bootleg” Power/Rangers which you can check out in the player below along with the original short.
Directed by Joseph Kahn (Torque, Detention), the short stars Katee Sackhoff and James Van Der Beek as some of the fan-favorite characters from the original “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” with a number of references to the original show’s mythology.
An actual reboot of the Power Rangers is in development at Lionsgate with a script by Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller. It’s set for release in theaters on July 22, 2016.
