“Let your dreams take flight with Walt Disney’s original classic. ‘Peter Pan’ soars to new heights in the magical 2-disc Platinum Edition DVD with an all-new digital restoration. Fantastic adventures await Wendy and her brothers when Peter Pan, the hero of their stories, whisks them away to the magical world of Never Land. After following Peter and his feisty sidekick Tinker Bell past “the second star to the right and straight on till morning,” they explore the island and Peter’s secret hideout with the rambunctious Lost Boys and leap into high-flying battles with swashbuckling pirates and the infamous Captain Hook! Bursting with fantasy, adventure, and pixie dust, this 2-disc Platinum Edition includes three all-new games in Camp Never Land, deleted scenes, a new discovery — in which Walt Disney reveals why he made ‘Peter Pan’ — and much more.”

“Peter Pan: 2-Disc Platinum Edition” is rated G.

Mini-Review:

“Peter Pan” is the latest Disney Classic to get the “Platinum” treatment from the studio. Like the previous DVDs, you get a re-mastered soundtrack and picture along with a plethora (word of the day!) of bonus features. The highlights this time include some deleted songs and sequences shown in storyboard format. Since there’s a new Tinker Bell movie coming out, there’s a huge emphasis on the pint sized pixie here. There’s a whole featurette covering the history of the character on stage and screen. You also meet the woman who was the live action model for the cartoon character. Finally, there’s an extensive sneak peek at the CGI movie that’s currently being made as part of a marketing blitz. “You Can Fly: The Making of Peter Pan” is also a highlight and it features interviews with the surviving cast and crew as well as a detailed history on the making of the film. For the kiddies there are also a number of games, virtual rides, storybooks, and even a soduko game. A commentary is also included which features everyone from Roy Disney to Leonard Maltin. Rounding out the bonus features are some music videos.

If you’re a Disney fan or an animation fan, this is yet another definitive DVD you’ll want to add to your collection.
