Nostalgic ’80s chiller Lady in White makes its Blu-ray premiere in September
Director Frank (Fear No Evil) LaLoggia’s Lady in White was an anomaly in the 1980s and, although told from the point of a view of a child, was decidedly made for adults.
Like many movies out of step with their times, the 1988 film has grown a small but devoted cult of admirers over the years and now it’s ready to be appreciated by an all new generation of fans when Scream Factory releases a 2-Disc Blu-ray edition of Lady in White on September 27. The Special Edition will also include the never-before-released full-length director’s cut, extended behind-the-scenes footage, and many more special features.
Here’s the official synopsis: For ten year old Frankie Scarletti (played by Lukas Haas from Witness), school isn’t just a place for learning. On Halloween of 1962, after being forced to spend the night locked in the coffin-like confines of his fourth-grade cloakroom, Frankie discovers the ghost of a little girl who was murdered in the very same room ten years earlier by a serial killer that has eluded the police for the last decade . With the death toll continuing to rise, Frankie, along with the help of the girl’s restless spirit, takes it upon himself to bring the killer to justice.
Starring alongside Haas is the late Alex Rocco (The Godfather’s Moe Green), Katherine Helmond (Mona in Who’s The Boss?) and Len Cariou (Blue Bloods).
