Bizarre family flick Kids Vs. Monsters stars horror icons and features practical FX
If you’re a fan of horror and cult film history – which, if you’re on this site, you likely are – and if you have children, you’ll no doubt be thrilled to learn of the existence of Kids Vs. Monsters, the directorial debut of producer Sultan Saeed Al Darmaki (Harbinger Down) and starring none other than genre heavyweights Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Time After Time) and Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Pumpkinhead). The long-delayed (it was shot in 2014) film emphasizes its monsters and comes loaded with awesome practical FX by Amalgamated Dynamics (The Thing, Aliens Vs. Predator).
Here’s the synopsis:
The six richest people in the world each have one thing still dragging them down — their intolerable kids. Luckily, there is a mysterious entity that is happy to lend a hand.
Kids Vs. Monsters also stars the amazing Keith David (The Thing, They Live), Richard Moll (House, Evilspeak, Night Court) and Armand Assante (Judge Dredd, I The Jury) to name a few.
What a cast.
This is a kid flick made by real deal horror loving madmen, apparently. How can it go wrong?
Kids Vs. Monsters streets on DVD on August 23 from Monarch Entertainment.
