Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore’s romantic comedy 50 First Dates debuted at No. 1 with $15.27 million in weekly rental revenue on Video Store magazine’s list of top rental titles for the week ending June 20, knocking Mystic River and Along Came Polly each down a notch in the top 3.
Writer/director David Mamet’s thriller, Spartan, cracked the top 10 rentals in its debut frame, landing at No. 4. The true-life survival story Touching the Void came in at No. 11, while the Tupac Shakur entry Tupac: Resurrection placed at No. 16.
“Polly” and “River” entered Nielsen VideoScan’s top DVD weekly sales chart at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, moving The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King into third place after three weeks in release.
