We Are Marshall and Grindhouse‘s “Death Proof” claimed the top two spots on the latest DVD sales chart, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The third spot on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert chart for the week ended September 23 was claimed by the fifth volume of “Family Guy” episodes, while the direct-to-video features — Superman: Doomsday and Barbie as the Island Princess — rounded out the top five.
“Smallville: Season 6” debuted at No. 6, followed by the unheralded action thriller The Condemned. The previous week’s champ, the Season 3 set of “Grey’s Anatomy,” fell to No. 8.
In rental stores, “Marshall” led with estimated revenue of $4.6 million according to Home Media Magazine. Condemned bowed at No. 2 with $4.2 million, bumping the previous week’s top renter, Blades of Glory, to No. 3.
“Death Proof” debuted at No. 4 with estimated earnings of $2.9 million.
On the high-definition disc charts, the long reign of 300 atop both the Blu-ray Disc and the HD DVD charts came to an end. On Blu-ray, the crown went to the director’s cut of Troy; on the HD DVD chart, it went to “Marshall.”
