The Robert Rodriguez action film was last week’s best-selling DVD nationwide and earned an estimated $15 million in gross rental revenue during its first five days on rental shelves.
Buena Vista Home Entertainment’s Open Range was the nation’s top choice on VHS while ranking as the second-best seller and renter to hit home video. The film earned an estimated $11.33 million in gross rental revenue during its first week in release.
Lions Gate Home Entertainment’s Cabin Fever debuted as the nation’s third-best-selling DVD while earning an estimated $7.27 million in gross rental revenue during the same frame.
Meanwhile, MGM Home Entertainment’s debut of Stargate SG-1: Season 5 took the number 12 spot on VideoScan’s First Alert DVD sales chart for the week ending Jan. 25, a respectable position for a TV-to-DVD product.
