Netflix documentary series American Murder: Laci Peterson explores the murder of Laci Peterson in great depth and comes forward with several details. The documentary features interviews from the family members and loved ones of Laci and her husband, Scott Peterson. Authorities arrested Laci’s husband for the murder and took him to trial. Subsequently, the jury found him guilty. However, the documentary reveals that police had two more suspects before they caught Peterson.

According to American Murder: Laci Peterson, a burglary took place across the street from Laci Peterson’s home somewhere between December 24 and December 26. For the uninitiated, Laci disappeared on the morning of December 24, 2002. The documentary revealed that the home belonged to the Medina Family, who were on vacation. Additionally, the Netflix series noted that the Medinas left on the morning of Christmas Eve and returned home on the evening of December 26. As the investigations progressed, police reportedly identified two suspects in the burglary case: Donald Pearce and Steven Todd.

Per a police officer, Donald Pearce and Steven Todd were “local criminals” and committed property crimes. Authorities held a press conference and considered them as the suspects in the burglary and potential suspects in Laci Peterson’s disappearance.

American Murder: Laci Peterson: Who are the other two suspects?

As mentioned earlier, the other two suspects in Laci Peterson’s disappearance were Donald Pearce and Steven Todd. The documentary states that multiple witnesses told the investigators about a suspicious van outside the Medina residence. One of the witnesses saw the suspicious vehicle outside the Medina house on December 24. However, many people didn’t see any vehicle, per the documentary.

The investigation continued, and Donald Pearce and Steven Todd confirmed that they robbed the Medina residence. However, they told the police that they didn’t abduct Laci Peterson. On the other hand, they claimed they burglarized the house on December 27. However, the police alleged that the burglars might have got the wrong date because the Medinas were home on December 27. Eventually, the law enforcement authorities believed that the burglary took place between 4 am and 7 a.m. on December 26, 2002.

Donald Pearce denied the abduction allegations and said they didn’t have any hand in Laci Peterson’s disappearance. Citing his statement, the documentary noted, “I didn’t have nothing to do with, uh, that lady’s disappearance.” American Murder: Laci Peterson stated that the burglars took a polygraph test and cleared it. Moreover, none of the items recovered from the burglary, including evidence or jewelry, were found to be related to Laci. The police also found that they were with their families on December 24. Thus, authorities announced that Donald Pearce and Steven Todd had nothing to do with Laci Peterson’s disappearance.

American Murder: Laci Peterson is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
