According to Digital Spy, Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus, the rooftoppers from Netflix’s Skywalkers: A Love Story, now live in Bangkok. The duo’s last climb was in December 2022, when they scaled the Merdeka 118 super-skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The building, which is the second highest in the world, was under construction then.
However, the rooftoppers faced accusations after the climb as people called their claims fake. This prompted them to share pictures and videos they captured during the ordeal to share online. Additionally, they faced backlash for trespassing into the building and found themselves at the center of an official investigation.
The outlet reported that Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus, originally from Moscow, shared their plans to move to New York. In a July interview, the latter told Vanity Fair, “There’s a big chance people will recognize us.” Thus refusing to reveal what and where their next climb will be.
Beerkus explained that authorities have “already banned” them “from some sites in Europe because we seem to be in some database.” He added, “They see us coming before we even get close. So there’s a big chance the film will impact that even further… That just means we’ll have to prepare better.”
