Why Did the WWE WrestleMania 40 Documentary Get Delayed?

WrestleMania is an annual large-scale wrestling event organized by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It first took place in 1985, in New York City, and subsequently in several North American locations since then.

WrestleMania 40 was held earlier this year in Philadelphia. The Lincoln Financial Field saw an attendance of more than 144,000 wrestling enthusiasts throughout two days and managed to create sports entertainment history. Interestingly, right after the event concluded, WWE released a trailer for a WrestleMania 40 documentary, titled WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain. According to Wrestle Talk, this project will showcase the build-up to the event, and behind-the-scenes footage, and also dive into the storylines involving WWE Superstars, Roman Reigns, The Rock, and Cody Rhodes.

WWE was going to release the aforementioned documentary on the Wednesday following WrestleMania 40. However, it did not come out. Per Wrestle Talk, the company decided to delay the release because it wanted to add more footage, especially from the event.

Currently, the documentary’s exact release date remains unknown. Fans are eagerly waiting for an update because several of them believe that WrestleMania 40 was the greatest WrestleMania ever. According to WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain‘s official trailer on YouTube, its synopsis reads, “Triple H, The Rock, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Seth “Freakin” Rollins and more peel back the curtain as they take you behind the scenes of the wildest Road to WrestleMania in recent history as WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain airs exclusively on YouTube, this Wednesday.”
