Netflix will soon release the popular documentary titled Skywalkers: A Love Story on their platform. However, it premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Interestingly, reports suggest that the project took seven years to produce.
Skywalkers: A Love Story will showcase the story of the blogger couple: Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus. The duo are daredevils and love climbing some of the world’s tallest buildings. Furthermore, in 2022, they made headlines by climbing the gigantic Merdeka 118 tower in Malaysia. Reportedly, this skyscraper is an intimidating 2,227ft tall.
The director and writer of this 1 hour 40 minute is Jeff Zimbalist, with Maria Bukhonina as co-director. Furthermore, Zimbalist, Bukhonina, Chris Smith, and Tamir Ardon are its producers. Lastly, its executive producer is Nick Spicer.
According to IMDb, the synopsis of Skywalkers: A Love Story reads, “A daring couple travels worldwide to climb the last super skyscraper, attempting a bold acrobatic stunt on the spire to salvage both their career and relationship.”
Angela Nikolau called the Merdeka 118 ‘the most beautiful skyscraper’ she has ever visited
Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus scaled the Merdeka 118 tower in December 2022 and set social media on fire. Furthermore, Angela stated that the Malaysian skyscraper was ‘the most beautiful skyscraper’ she had ever been to.
She expressed herself on Twitter by writing, “I fell in love with the Merdeka 118 Tower the moment I saw it. I felt an instant spiritual connection. Such a majestic building in the middle of an amazing city – I had to discover and share the views with others.”
She continued, “I started the mission and I was wearing a hijab, glasses, and a builder’s uniform to look as unnoticeable as possible. I ran the first 32 floors and got overheated and I had to lie down on the concrete floor naked to cool down a little bit. I drank all the water I had.”
Angela Nikolau was born on 24 June 1993 and is currently 30 years old.
