Investigation Discovery recently premiered the docuseries The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks, which sheds light on the mysterious story of Natalia Grace. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this new six-part series is a follow-up to 2023’s The Curious Case of Natalia Grace.
Natalia’s story began in 2010 when the Indiana couple Kristine and Michael Barnett adopted her. According to People, the Ukrainian orphan arrived in the USA in 2008. Furthermore, she suffered from a condition called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, which restricted her physical growth. From 2008 to 2010, the child lived with several different foster families.
While nothing looked out of the ordinary at the start, the 6-year-old’s adoptive parents soon began suspecting that she was much older than her claimed age. The Guardian reported that Kristine noticed Nataliya was mensurating and possessed “full pubic hair.” Furthermore, Kristine and Michael said that their adoptive daughter had malicious and sociopathic intentions.
Lafayette Journal and Courier reported that Natalia Grace currently lives with another Indiana couple, Cynthia and Antwon Mans, and their children.
The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks: What was Natalia Accused of?
People reported that the Barnetts claimed Natalia tried to poison Kristine’s coffee. They even accused her of attempting to kill Kristine by dragging her towards an electric fence and even placing thumbtacks on the stairs face up.
In The Curious Case of Natalia Grace, Natalia says that the allegations against her are completely false. She stated, “It’s frustrating. It’s very frustrating to hear everything that’s being said from Kristine and Michael. And because I already don’t know who I am and I want to know who I am and what happened to me, but I’m hearing all this stuff that never actually happened from Kristine and Michael.”
According to People, she is legally 33 years old. However, she claims that she is 19.
