Founded by Jeff and Shaleia Divine, the Twin Flames Universe has been in the midst of significant controversy. The TFU, which remains active even today, also found itself at the center of a Netflix docuseries titled Escaping Twin Flames. The documentary premiered earlier this month and features first-hand interviews with former members, delving into the dark side of the online dating community.
People Magazine reported that former users have revealed how the platform promises to match each user with their ‘soulmate.’ However, they claimed that Twin Flames Universe allegedly “preys on people looking for love.” It encouraged “stalking behavior” and even manipulates “gender identities.”
The founders, Jeff and Shaleia, have reportedly refused to respond to any allegations and stated that it’s a ruse to discredit their community.
Where are the Twin Flames Universe founders Jeff and Shaleia Divine now?
Michigan-based couple Jeff and Shaleia Divine started a blog called Awakened Intimacy while living in Hawaii. They eventually named this blog the Twin Flames Universe, as per Cosmopolitan. The platform helps members of the community to achieve a Twin Flame Union – “a spiritual state wherein both Twin Flames are awakened to their Twin Flame connection and have mutually agreed to be exclusively committed to each other.” According to this teaching, everyone has one Twin Flame.
However, former members of TFU have alleged that the platform encourages stalking and manipulates gender identities. It also coerces and exploites members. The co-founders have denied any wrongdoing but have refused to respond to comments on the same subject.
The Twin Flames website released a comment on recent allegations that imply “we wield inappropriate control over” members. They continued, “After a careful review of both media coverage and recent productions, we are saddened that so much effort has gone into taking swipes.” The statement further said that their community is based “on love and mutual respect.”
It further reads, “The allegations levied against Twin Flames Universe not only distort our true aims, methods, and curriculums but also misrepresent the autonomy of our community members, who are free to engage with our resources as they see fit. We are committed to confronting these allegations in an open and accountable manner.”
Cosmopolitan also stated that Jeff and Shaleia Divine continue to operate the Twin Flames Universe from their Michigan home. They accept members even today. The couple had a daughter, Grace, in April 2023, as per People Magazine.
