Founded by Mœbius, Philippe Druillet, and Jean-Pierre Dionnet, Metal Hurlant originally debuted 50 years ago as a French publication. Metal Hurlant is now coming to English as a quarterly anthology that is being published by Humanoids.
“Each volume of Metal Hurlant will be a massive 272+page literary experience curated to theme with all-new content from today’s best and brightest comics creators from all corners of the world, alongside insightful and biting cultural reportage, and featuring classic stories from the masters of the original run, including long out-of-print short stories from Mœbius,” a description of the project reads.
One of the new stories featured in the first year of the Metal Hurlant anthology is “Alter,” which comes from writer Mark Waid and artist Jean-Michel Ponzio. Check out an exclusive preview of the story below:

Metal Hurlant will launch in 2025 with a spring issue. It will be available through newsstands, comic book shops, book stores, by subscription, and via the Kickstarter campaign.
