Mondo announces Peanuts-themed gallery, It’s an Art Show, Charlie Brown!
Mondo and Peanuts Worldwide have teamed up for an exciting new gallery celebrating the works of Charles Schulz’s Peanuts franchise in time for its 70th anniversary with a full collection of art on display that will be followed by a sale of the works the day after the show. “It’s an Art Show, Charlie Brown” celebrates the Peanuts characters with 16 iconic panels and strips by legendary creator Schulz produced as screenprinted posters. In addition to Mondo’s posters, the gallery will also host a pop-up shop from kindred spirits Super7, who will be on hand with an awesome assortment of officially licensed collectibles.
The show kicks off a year of celebrations for the brand’s anniversary, as it will reach the 70-year mark since the first strip appeared in seven American newspapers on October 2, 2020. Opening night for the gallery is set to be held on Friday, November 15 from 7-10 p.m. and the show will be on display through November 17 during the gallery’s regular hours of noon to 6 p.m. at Mondo Gallery located in Austin, TX.
“This show has been a Mondo dream forever, and the Peanuts team have been amazing to work with,” Mondo Creative Director Mitch Putnam said. “Focusing on single panels and removing the story really recontextualizes Schulz’s work in a cool way.”
