The ongoing Wuxia C-drama Joy of Life Season 2, starring Zhang Ruoyun, released episode 11 on May 21, 2024. The episode focuses on Fan Xian’s (Zhang Ruoyun) confrontation with the second crown prince, Li Cheng Ze. Meanwhile, the emperor is upset with Chen Ping Ping and Fan Jian. He confronts them for not intervening in the commotion created by Fan Xian at the court. He is perturbed that these two, who hold important ministerial posts at the imperial court, just stood by while Fan Xian cornered the prince. Chen Ping Ping tries to calm the emperor down. Even though he believes that the second prince is innocent, he is surrounded by cunning people who manipulate him for their own gain.
Furthermore, Chen Ping Ping and Fan Jian find out that it was Chancellor Lin who impeached the second prince’s followers. He is the one who caused the fight between the two princes.
Cheng Ze confronts Fan Xian and asks him if the list of corrupt officials has really been crafted by the Overwatch Council. He suspects that it was Fan Xian who wanted to single him out in front of the court. After Fan Xian gives an affirmative answer, the prince accuses Fan Xian of especially targeting those who are under his patronage. Fan Xian mocks him for not being careful while making acquaintances. The prince asks him to cease the investigation. He states that Fan Xian would cause the downfall of the kingdom.

The prince also knows that Fan Xian sent Fan Si Zhe up north and mentions that he sent his men to bring him back. The prince is furious at Fan Xian and wishes to give him a fitting reply. He instructs Bi An to do everything in his power to cause an uproar.
Meanwhile, a courtesan from the moon-embracing pavilion is beaten to death in broad daylight. After investigating, Fan Xian finds that Yuan Meng is nowhere to be found. But she has left a letter accusing Fan Si Zhe of forcing women into prostitution. Also, a letter from the victim reveals her identity as the girl from the Jin family whom Fan Xian released from servitude. But mysteriously, the perpetrators did not ask for her identity and attacked whoever walked out of the door of the pavilion. Fan Xian vows to serve justice at any cost.
In the midst of all this, Fan Xian apologizes to his father for harming the family’s reputation. He comes to know that the censorate is preparing another report where they plan to target the Fan family. Fan Xian announces that he does not wish to attend court before the killers are caught.
When the second prince finds out that the Fan family has been avoiding going to court because they are sick, he sends a physician to investigate the matter. So he can charge them for being deceitful. But Fan Xian’s intellect saves him, as he is able to foresee the prince’s devious plan. To avoid getting caught, he makes his father drink a mild poison. Furthermore, he fakes injuries to his own body.
