Youku has unveiled the list of upcoming shows at the 2024 Spring Conference. The event was successfully held on May 15, 2024. They have also released a series of posters, teasers, and trailers to mark the occasion. From Living the Dream to Inverted Fate, the network giant confirmed the release of dramas belonging to a plethora of genres, including history, fantasy, suspense, and more.
Here’s a list of costume dramas that will meet viewers in 2024:
1. Living the Dream
Youku and Liehuo collaboratively announced the release of the upcoming Xianxia C-drama, Living the Dream. It is an adaptation of the famous novel “Unconscious” by Yi Du Jun Hua. The show has yet to reveal its cast details.
2. Inverted Fate
Youku will join hands with Perfect World for Inverted Fate. Liu Ning is the lead producer for the upcoming drama. It is an adaptation of the novel “Capture the Jade.” The drama will follow the genre of historical romance.
3. 长安二十四计
Youku has yet to confirm the English title for this upcoming drama. At the conference, Youku confirmed Chen Yi as the male lead. Not much information has been revealed except that it is a historical suspense drama that is male-centric and will take place in the capital of Chang’an. Furthermore, it will depict stories of strategies planned by a general.
4. 七星彩
It is a collaborative project with Stellar Pictures. The drama will follow the genres of history and romance. Furthermore, Youku has not revealed the cast details or the English title for this upcoming drama yet.
5. The Immortal Ascension
Youku confirmed Yang Yang as the lead in the upcoming drama. It will tell the story of an ordinary mortal named Han Li who gets lost in the world of immortals. Furthermore, the anticipated drama also released a poster of Yang Yang, highlighting his striking visual:
6. Zhan Zhao Adventures
Additionally, another male-centric costume C-drama was announced at the conference. Liu Hong Yuan of Daylight Entertainment will direct the series, and Wu Tong is the screenwriter of the drama. Famous Chinese actor Yang Yang will be featured as the lead actor in the drama. It is an adaptation of Minifish’s novel, bearing the same title.
7. When I Meet the Moon
Youku announced the drama adaptation of Zhu Yi’s novel “Folding Moon” at the 2024 Youku Youku Spring Conference. But the cast details have not been revealed yet. The drama will take place in the same universe as previous dramas like Hidden Love, First Frost, etc.
8. Blades of the Guardians
Youku announced the live-action adaptation of the manhua, bearing the same name. Derek Hui will direct the upcoming drama. However, Youku has yet to disclose the cast details but has released a stunning poster. Take a look at it below:
Meanwhile, Youku’s already confirmed big productions like Kill My Sins, Zang Hai Zhuan, Riverside Scene At Qing Ming Festival, The Story of Pearl Girl, The Princess Royal, etc. The network giant also released posters and trailers for the dramas.
