In a recent press conference, the Chinese network giant iQIYI unveiled the list of C-dramas that will debut in the second quarter of the year. These iQIYI C-dramas will cover a plethora of genres, including history, fantasy, and thrillers. Many prominent names in the C-drama world, including Hu Yitian, Luo Zheng, Dylan Kuo, and Xu Yiyang, are among those who will make a return.
The list of iQIYI C-dramas includes Running Like a Shooting Star, Perfect Her, Peacock in Wonderland, Men in Love, etc.
1. Running Like a Shooting Star
This sports C-drama by iQIYI premiered on April 17, 2024. It features Gan Wang Xing, Jin Xiao, Mai Wu Lan, Zhou Yan Zhe, and Mai Wu Lan in the lead roles. It tells the story of Qi Tian (Gan Wan Xing), a sprinting prodigy who gives up his dream. But his senior at the university motivates him to return to the tracks. He meets a group of friends who share the same dream as him. They rely on each other to reclaim their passions and past hobbies.
2. Perfect Her
This romantic C-drama is an adaptation of the popular mahua “Jiu Ai Xin Yan” by Yoolook. It tells the story of Ning Mo Chen (Xu Yiyang), who dies in a car accident. A strange phenomenon forces her to swap souls with her husband’s mistress. As Mo Chen reincarnates as her husband’s mistress, she embarks on a journey to find the culprit and take her revenge.
3. Men in Love
This upcoming iQIYI C-drama features Hu Yitan and Liang Jie in the lead roles. The plot depicts the struggles of relationships between several couples. While some struggle to be with their partner, others struggle to confess their love. Ye Han (Hu Yitan) and Li Xiaoxiao (Liang Jie) come close as they continue to work together. But Xiaoxiao is secretly in love with Jia Cheng (Dai Xu). What happens when Ye Han slowly starts to develop feelings for Xiaoxiao? There are also other couples in their circle of friends who are facing relationship issues.
4. The Substitute Princess’s Love
This ongoing fantasy iQIYI C-drama premiered on April 26, 2024. After Wen Ye (Dylan Luo), the God of war passes away at war, the mother of his would-be bride finds a new bride to save her daughter from humiliation. But it was all a miscommunication, and Wan Ye successfully returned from war. His new bride, Shen Ke Yi (Zhang Miao Yi), is the illegitimate daughter of the Shen family. Wan Ye teaches her the true meaning of love, and the duo learns to value each other’s company the most.
5. Peacock in Wonderland
This iQIYI C-drama premiered on April 19, 2024. It tells the story of physics genius Hua Ni (Zhang Chu Han), who accidentally travels to the fantastic Peacock City and becomes the holy envoy. Hua Ni runs into many problems with the Peacock Sect, but Li Muyang (Zhou Jun Wei), from the Ministry of Rites, saves her every time. But problems arise as she finds out that Muyang is actually the leader of Baihuasha, an assassin organization. Hua Ni falls for Muyang as she finds out how his organization helps the common people.
