The ongoing modern C-drama Will Love in Spring released episode 4 on April 23, 2024. It features Li Xian and Zhou Yutong in the lead roles. The episode primarily focuses on Zhuang Jie (Zhou Yutong) recalling her past relationship with Mai Dong (Li Xian).
Zhuang Jie visits the people’s government of her hometown. Chen Mai Dong is also present there. The get-together has been arranged to establish a network amongst the town’s youngsters and discuss different development projects.
Zhuang Jie shows her friendly side as she talks with her old friends. She asks Mai Dong to add her on social media. But Mai Dong makes up a trivial excuse and completely ignores her. As they keep locking eyes, the duo recalls when they met in their younger days. Zhuang Jie constantly tries to get Mai Dong’s attention, but he ignores her.
At the end of the event, Zhuang Jie asks Mai Dong to give her a ride, but he refuses. But when he sees her limping and in pain, he comes back for her. He even carries her to his vehicle. On their way home, Zhuang Jie keeps trying to converse with Mai Dong but ignores her.
Will Love In Spring ep 4: How Did Zhou Yutong & Li Xian get together in the past?
Mai Dong’s grandmother tells her friend she is fond of Zhuang Jie. She also says that Jie reminds her of her younger days. But she worries because Zhuang Jie does not want to stay in Nanping and wants to go back to Shanghai. Grandma Mai also worries that Mai Dong won’t be able to win Zhuang Jie’s heart.
After reaching their destination, Zhuang Jie tells Mai Dong about her prosthetic limb that allows her to walk around. Mai Dong is upset that she lied to him and pretends to limp. He also thinks that Zhuang Jie has been trying to get closer to him.
Zhuang Jie does not confirm his concern, nor does she deny it. She leaves it to him to perceive it as however he wants. Zhuang Jie also advises him not to be serious all the time as life is short, and one should learn to savour each moment. Mai Dong tells her she never tried to understand the town and its people.
In episode 4 of Will Love In Spring, Zhuang Jie catches up with her friend. The friend asks her how she got close to Mai Dong when they were younger. Zhuang Jie recalls that she was an introvert, and Mai Dong became her support system when she first moved to this town.
Moreover, she recalls how he taught her to use her crutch as her weapon. It was he who stood up for her and never treated her as a disabled individual. He would participate in plays just so Zhuang Jie wouldn’t feel lonely and even carry her when the ground was wet for her crutch.
Meanwhile, Mai Dong’s grandmother is upset because he failed to ask Zhuang Jie out. She thinks that he will never find another girl like Zhuang Jie. She also advises him not to offend her.
