The ongoing modern C-drama Best Choice Ever released episode 32 on April 23, 2024. It features Xu Kai and Yang Zi in the lead roles. The episode primarily focuses on Cheng Huan (Yang Zi) trying to fix the problems between Zhi Ming (Xu Kai) and his father.
Cheng Huan’s mother is upset with her husband, as she thinks he already knew about Cheng Huan dating Zhi Ming but did not tell her. Cheng Huan decides to talk to her mother in private and tells her that she wanted to be sure before telling her and was waiting for the right time.
She continues by saying that Zhi Ming understands her well. Cheng Huan assures her mother that, despite Zhi Ming’s rude appearance, he has a sensitive and kind heart. He is responsible towards his work, his personal life, and also towards his family. Cheng Huan feels blessed to be with him. In the end, Cheng Huan asks her mother to support and give blessings to her and Zhi Ming. Mrs. Liu embraces her daughter. She approves of Zhi Ming.
The next day, Mrs. Liu visits Zhi Ming’s father to discuss the wedding date. Mrs. Liu mentions that, although she is fond of Zhi Ming, she does not like Mr. Zao. She asks him to stay away from his son after the wedding. Mr. Zao persuades her to ask Zhi Ming to let him attend the wedding.
Best Choice Ever ep 32: Yang Zi asks her mother to support her decision
Mr. Zao gets into an argument with Cheng Huan after he uses her name to get himself a room upgrade at Xiang’anli. In a fit of anger, Mr. Zao tells her that he will never approve of her relationship with his son. Cheng Huan finally tells him off. She thinks that he is a hypocrite for trying to meddle in his son’s private matters when he never made an effort to establish a good relationship with his son.
Cheng Huan also promises to help him get better. She gifts him a smartphone to help him contact his son. Mr. Zao finally softens up. He admits to being distant and asks for help to get closer to his son.
In episode 31 of Best Choice Ever, Mr. Zao starts to make efforts to mend his relationship with Zhi Ming. He asks him out for a meal. He apologizes to Zhi Ming for his past mistakes. Slowly, Zhi Ming also softens up. But he still thinks that the hurt he experienced in the past can not be undone. And for this reason, he will never be able to verbally forgive him.
Further in the episode, Pei Sheng’s associate asks Mr. Zao to get him an entry card for an upcoming event at Xiang’anli. Mr. Zao can sense that Pei Sheng is up to something. Although, by using fraudulent methods, he acquires the card, he feels extremely guilty about it. He can see how Cheng Huan treats him like her own family. She even invites him to her home.
Meanwhile, Zhi Ming goes to the market with Cheng Huan’s parents. Mrs. Liu asks him about inviting his father for a meal. Zhi Ming hesitates at first but finally agrees.
