The ongoing modern C-drama Best Choice Ever released episode 29 on April 22, 2024. It features Xu Kai and Yang Zi in the lead roles. The episode focuses on Mai Cheng Huan (Yang Zi) receiving resistance from her staff. Mai Cheng Zao (Gala Zhang) opens up to his sister and tells her the reason for his distress. He tells her how Mao’s ex-husband has turned her son against her. The two siblings come up with a plan to collaborate with the kindergarten and arrange a parent-child event at Xiang’anli.
Cheng Huan reveals her brother’s hardships to her mother. Mrs. Liu is shocked to find out that not only did Zao lose his job at the law firm, but he also worked as a delivery agent to provide for the family. She is remorseful that her son had to endure so much on his own, and she only added to his suffering with her constant scrutiny. Meanwhile, Zao visits Mao and promises to work hard to provide for her and her son. He promises to never leave her side.
Zhi Ming (Xu Kai) gathers information on the suppliers and wants to upgrade the room service. Mao visits Cheng Huan at work. She is surprised to see some of the employees openly being mean to Cheng Huan. Meanwhile, Zhang Ziyu gets into an argument with Pei Sheng, who accuses her of not having a vision.
Best Choice Ever ep 29: Xu Kai receives a promotion
Liao Gang, the head of the concierge department at the hotel, criticizes Cheng Huan’s management style and also tries to turn other employees against her. Pei Sheng freezes Zhi Ming’s access to the system.
Furthermore, Zhi Ming is questioned by Amber about his relationship with Cheng Huan. He convinces Amber that there is a better option than acquiring Xiang’anli directly. He also threatens to remove Pei Sheng from her position if she does not give up on Xiang’anli.
The parent-child event at Xiang’anli ends successfully. At the end of the event, Mao succeeds in reconciling with her son. Meanwhile, an accident with the framing equipment threatens the safety of the children. But Zhi Ming helps Cheng Huan take care of it. Cheng Huan finds out that Liao Gang has convinced Mr. Fang to use a cheap alternative.
In episode 29 of Best Choice Ever, Zhi Ming gets promoted to the presidential position. He is now the president of the entire East China Region.
Cheng Huan holds a meeting with the staff members. She congratulates her employees for conducting the event successfully. But she also dismisses Liao Gang. Mr. Cui asks to give him a chance to rectify his mistake, but Cheng Huan is firm on her decision.
Then, Liao Gang humiliates Cheng Huan and compares her with her late grandmother. He accuses her of overworking her employees and paying them less. Cheng Huan threatens to take legal action against him as there is surveillance footage of him taking kickbacks. Liao Gang gets mad at her and splashes water on her before being taken out of the hotel.
