The modern C-drama Angels Fall Sometimes released its final episode on March 19, 2024. It features Lin Yi and Landy Li in the lead roles. The episode primarily focuses on Zhe Que (Landy Li) becoming Lin Tuo’s biggest support system.
In the episode, Lin Tuo wakes up in his hospital bed on a stormy night. Then, he tries to comfort a fellow patient by initiating a conversation. He opens up about the series of misfortunes he had to endure. Apart from being diagnosed with this fatal disease, he also lost his beloved grandfather. Lin further says he does not want his close ones to suffer any longer because of him.
The next day, Lin Tuo and Zhe Que go to have dinner with Lin’s family. There, he declares that he wants to drop out of the art school and get into medical school to study neurology.
Lin Tuo’s father regrets how he disregarded his sons’ feelings and imposed his own dreams on them. Lin assures him that this is what he wants and that he will make sure to make his parents proud.
Meanwhile, in a conversation with a fellow patient, Lin Tuo says he will never blame Zhe Que if she wants to quit someday. He thinks that blaming someone is equivalent to trying to hold them back. He wants Zhe Que to be happy and carefree and find someone she can settle down with.
Zhe Que continues to care for Lin Tuo. Seasons change, but her love for him remains unparalleled. However, Lin Tuo’s condition worsens with time.
Angels Fall Sometimes ending: Landy Li takes Lin Yi on a birthday trip
Zhe Que wants to take Lin Tuo on a trip for his birthday. She visits Lin Tuo’s parents to get permission. Guang Pu and Xindi tag along with them.
After arriving at the location, Zhe Que takes Lin Tuo to look around. They reminisce about the days they have spent together. Zhe Que knows that Lin Tuo wishes to see the snow. She arranges a snow machine to give Lin Tuo a chance to experience snowfall.
After cutting the birthday cake, Lin Tuo thanks his friends for being there for him and Zhe Que for making him brave. He promises to try to live so he can spend more time with his friends, family, and Que. Lin Tuo knows that he might have to get a tracheotomy one day to help him survive. He dreads the day he will have to say goodbye to Zhe Que.
Zhe Que takes Lin Tuo to the annual celebration of the university. Lin Tuo explains his condition to the audience and thanks everyone for being there for him. He thanks his colleagues for designing the special wheelchair for him, which has helped him a lot. He thanks Zhe Que and calls her the luckiest thing to happen to him. Tuo knows that love can not win against death, but he wishes to spend his remaining days with her by his side.
The next scene takes viewers to two years later. Lin Tuo is completely bedridden, but Zhe Que continues to care for him. She keeps her promise of being there for him till the very end.
