The ongoing romantic fantasy C-drama The Legend of Shen Li released episode six on March 19, 2024. It features Lin Gengxin and Zhao Liying in the main roles. The episode focuses on Shen Li’s (Zhao Liying) master trying to drag her back to the immortal realm.
Shen Li defeats He and decides to set her free. As He breaks down crying, Shen Li consoles her, saying that Chengjin’s intention was to kill her from the very beginning. He intended to replace his ailing wife with her spirit. Shen Li takes He to confront Gu Chengjin. Chengjin confesses to using He for his own benefit and decides to stay with his wife. As He gets her closure, her spirit is finally set free.
Meanwhile, Xing Xhi’s condition deteriorates. He starts to get bruises all over his hand and continues to cough up blood. After Chengjin’s wife wakes up from slumber, Shen Li frees all the demons held captive by Chengjin’s family. Xing Zhi asks her to calm down, but Shen Li is not ready to listen. She tells Xing Zhi that if she was in He’s place, she would never be able to forgive him.
The Legend of Shen Li Ep 6: Lin Gengxin’s health deteriorates
Xing Zhi’s thinking differs from that of Shen Li’s, as he thinks one should not hold grudges. Even though what Chengjin did was wrong, Xing Zhi thinks that killing him would not be worth it.
Shen Li tells Xing Zhi how she despises despicable men. If a man is with her, she will not allow him to be with anyone else. Shen Li finally breaks the news to Xing Zhi that she will have to return to the immortal realm. She tells him that even though she likes him, he is free. Shen Li finally notices Xing Zhi’s frail condition.
She identifies his wounds as blood bubbles that form from resentment. She worries for him as these bubbles have the ability to rot bones and flesh. Shen Li wonders how Xing Zhi could hold for so long.
As Shen Li’s master is able to track her down, she has no choice but to take refuge in a hideout. She sends a demon to check up on Xing Zhi. The demon reports back that Xing Zhi might pass away soon from his sickness.
Meanwhile, the lord of the immortal realm has sent two generals to take her back to the palace. The Lord has ordered them to cripple her and take her to the wedding ceremony. As the soldier tries to harm Xing Zhi with his sword, Shen Li arrives at the spot and attacks the soldier fiercely.
In episode six of The Legend of Shen Li, Shen Li continues to fight bravely against an army of soldiers alone. At last, her master arrives at the spot and orders her to return to the palace. She orders her soldiers to drag her back to the palace. Shen Li accepts her defeat. Before leaving Xing Zhi behind, the duo share an intimate kiss. Xing Zhi tries to stop her from leaving, but he is too weak to even get up.
