The episode focuses on Zhi Que (Landy Li) giving Lin Tuo (Lin Yi) reassurance after he has a mental breakdown. Zhi Que arrives at the hospital to check up on Lin Tuo and finds his bed empty. She worries for him and starts to ask around. Unfortunately, nobody has seen him. Zhi Que and her friends search for him at every possible spot but cannot trace him.
Lin Tuo arrives at the riverside. He does not want his close ones to suffer any longer and wants to put an end to his miserable life. He slowly starts to drive his wheelchair into the water. Zhi Que arrives just in time and tries pulling him out of the water. Lin Tuo begs her to let him go. Zhi Que tries to assure him that they will be fine, but Lin Tuo is not in his right mind.
He holds his place tight. He knows that he is going to pass away soon and wants to put an end to this suffering. When nothing works, Zhi Que tells him that if he dies, she will die with him. They both break down crying. After a long discussion, Zhi Que convinces him to return to the hospital.

After returning to his hospital room, Zhi Que tucks him into bed and calms him down. She tells him that even if he wants to die, she won’t allow it. She says that she knows that Lin Tuo’s disease is terminal, but death is an integral part of life that no one can avoid. Zhi Que asks him to be optimistic. She says she will be there for him until the very end and that he is not a burden.
Lin Tuo’s friends are equally worried for him. His best friend, Guang Pu (Sun Tian Yu), does not want to take any chances and gets ready to stay with Lin Tuo at the hospital. Zhi Que’s father comes over to visit him with delicious food. Jiang Chu Cheng (Wang You Jun) buys a new laptop for him with an eye tracker so that he can still work on his designs.
Episode 21 of Angels Fall Sometimes also shows Zhi Que and Lin Tuo’s best friends getting hitched. He Xin Di (Li Xin Ran) and Guang Pu develop feelings for each other. Guang Pu proposes to her, and she says yes. The duo visits the hospital together to give Lin Tuo the good news.
