The much-anticipated thriller C-drama The First Shot has updated viewers with some eye-catching posters. The series finished filming last year. The newly released posters have revealed a star-studded cast. The original broadcasting network of the drama is Youku. Lu Xing and Chen Zhou Fei are the directors of The First Shot. Meanwhile, Zhang Yuan Ang and Mai Li Ya Si are the screenwriters. Although the network giant has not yet revealed any release date for the upcoming drama, it is expected to meet viewers sometime in 2024.
Huang Jingyu, Wang Ziqi, & Xie Keyin to lead The First Shot cast
On February 4, 2024, the drama team released an official statement that revealed the cast details for the upcoming drama. Youku has confirmed that The First Shot will feature Huang Jingyu (Johnny Huang), Wang Ziqi, and Xie Keyin (Chloe Xie). Huang Jingyu and Wang Ziqi previously worked together in the 2023 drama Bright Eyes in the Dark.
Huang Jingyu has acted in various dramas and movies, including Love Designer, My Dear Guardian, Lucky With You, Ace Troops, Addicted, Moonshine and Valentine, etc. Meanwhile, Wang Ziqi has garnered attention for his roles in The Love You Give Me, Once We Get Married, The Longest Promise, Love is in the Air, etc. Xie Keyin is a rising actor who previously appeared in Twenty Your Life On Season 2, My Way, Left Right, etc.

Other than these lead actors, The First Shot will also feature Hai Qing, Zhang Yu, Li Nai Wen, Lin Bo Yang, and others in pivotal roles.
The drama will follow the genres of suspense and crime. It will reportedly release a total of 24 episodes. Youku has not revealed any official synopsis for The First Shot as of yet.
