Thriller C-drama White Cat Legend has released its eighth episode on February 21, 2024. It follows the genres of mystery, fantasy, and adventure. The drama features Ding Yuxi, Zhou Qi, Ding Jiawen, and Zhang Yicong in the leading roles. The original broadcasting network of the drama is iQIYI. Wang Wei has directed it. The drama is an adaptation of the famous manhwa “Dali Si Rizhi.”
White Cat Legend is a period drama that takes place during the Tang Dynasty. It tells the story of Li Bing (Ding Yuxi), who has been appointed as the Assistant Minister of the temple. At a night banquet, the Empress recognizes his worth and gives him the responsibility to look after the Dali Temple. Following his leadership, a group of temple members allies to uphold justice in the kingdom. They work hard to solve crimes and bring peace to the common people.
In episode eight of White Cat Legend, Li Bing investigates the trading centers that are frequented by foreign merchants. He shows interest in participating in a contest by showing a token. The chip belongs to a person named Jiazitou. Li Bing wishes to unveil the true identity of the person, and the businessman invites him inside.
White Cat Legend Ep 8: The judicial court reopens the case involving the demonic cat
Two members of the Court of Judicial Review approach the Ministry of Justice. They request Feng Jian, the Deputy Mister of Justice, to let them reopen the demon cat murder mystery. The minister turns down their request and humiliates them. However, the officials convince him to let them review the case. Hence, Feng Jian finally agrees and also gives them some written documents to help with the case.
Li Bing is taken inside. He sees a powerful fighter fighting the contestants. No participant can take him down. After Li Bing is forced to go against him, he has no choice but to show his skills. He easily takes his opponent down and leaves the spectators surprised. After Li Bing notices a masked woman gazing at him, he decides to follow her.
The mystery woman is Hu Ji. She tells Li Bing that she knows his true identity. Li Bing asks her to reveal Jiazitou’s identity. Hu Ji reveals that Jiazitou was a powerful fighter who liked to fight for fun. Jiazitou would pick the strongest opponent and put a bet on himself.
Additionally, in episode eight of White Cat Legend, Hu Ji also says that he vanished after one of his fights but he left his mask behind. Hu Ji trickily tries to stab Li Bing, but his quick wit saves him. After finding the answers, Li Bing takes his leave. Further, after coming back to his chamber, Li Bing carefully examines Jiazitou’s mask and retrieves some useful information.
The Court of Judicial Review interrogates people around the kingdom. Li Bing visits Vice Minister Shangguan (Ren Min) and expresses his wish to visit the secret chamber of the judicial court. Significantly, the chamber does not only contain documentation of felonies of different states but also old cases from previous dynasties.
