The new arc will officially kick off in the 30th episode, which is set to premiere on November 4 in Japan. The Shaman King reboot started in April 2021 and will be comprised of 52 episodes total, which will adapt the entire 35-volume manga series. In August 2021, Netflix began streaming the adaption worldwide, and the first thirteen episodes are currently available in English, Japanese, German, Spanish, and French.
The new series is directed by Joji Furuta (The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of the Commandments) at the studio Bridge (Fairy Tail), while Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia) is composing the music.
Shaman King first debuted in 1998, and the manga’s original run went until 2004 when it was canceled due to fatigue from Takei himself. The original anime adaption spanned 64 episodes that ran from 2001-2002, and both the manga and anime remain a cult classic among fans.
