A new trailer for My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission released giving a new look at the upcoming film and a preview of its theme song.
The trailer is action-packed featuring fan-favorite characters like Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki, as well as the new villain Fleck Turn. It also reveals the theme song for My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission “Empathy” by Asian Kung-Fu Generation. The Japanese alternative rock band has provided several songs to other popular anime including Dororo and Naruto Shippuden.

My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission is actually the third film for the beloved anime franchise. The first, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, made its debut in 2018 grossing $5.7 million at the US box office. The second, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, premiered in 2019 and garnered $2.5 million on its opening day.
My Hero Academia began as a manga series written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. It has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2014. The anime television adaption produced by Bones made its debut in Japan in 2016. Both the anime and manga are still ongoing. The series has also been adapted into a few video games such as My Hero One’s Justice.

My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission will premiere in theaters in Japan on August 6, 2021. Those who attend will receive the bonus manga “Vol. World Heroes.” A North American theatrical release has yet to be revealed.
