Episode 5 of Oshi no Ko season 2 begins with Akane cooking for Aqua, Gotanda, and his mother. While they praise her culinary skills, she remains lost in thought and vows to save Aqua just like how he saved her. Surprisingly for Gotanda, Aqua agrees to let her see his acting projects. The director recalls how Aqua did not let Kana see his work and wonders what made him change his mind. As Akane watches his performances, she discusses his struggle with emotional acting.
Gotanda tells her how Aqua used to collapse at work when his trauma was triggered. As a result, emotional acting has been difficult for him. Instead of relying on emotional acting, Aqua attempts to imitate other actors’ performances, which Gotanda believes is a brilliant skill.
Aqua reveals his true intention to work as an actor
Akane asks Aqua his motive behind doing stage plays. After some initial hesitation, he asks her what she would do if he revealed he began acting to kill someone at the top of the entertainment industry.
Akane is caught off-guard by the strange question but soon responds that she will help him kill that person. Aqua calls her crazy, but she insists she wants to support him fully as his girlfriend.
In return, she asks Aqua to fulfill his duty as her boyfriend by helping her win against Kana. With Himekawa’s help, Kana performs her best; hence, Aqua must assist Akane if she wants to defeat Kana. Aqua agrees, and the couple decides to seek Gotanda’s help after rehearsals to execute emotional acting perfectly.
Ruby and Minami visit Lalalai
Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 5 shifts to Ruby and Minami visiting Lalalai to meet Aqua and Akane. Ruby complains about how Aqua has been arriving home late every night. However, Melt informs them that the couple has left with Gotanda.
This prompts Minami to assume that the couple must be spending intimate time together, which saddens Ruby and she excuses herself to the restroom. While Minami waits for Ruby, Sakuya hits on her but Melt comes to the rescue, after which Sakuya insults Melt’s acting.

Kana shows the back issue of a magazine in which Akane gave an interview. To Akane’s embarrassment, Kana reveals that she used to look up to her as an inspiration. Kana brutally drags Akane down, but Aqua and Himekawa intervene to pull them apart before the argument escalates.
Akane and Kana separately confirm their dislike for each other. Moreover, the latter reveals that she is determined to regain the title of a “genius actor” by defeating Akane. She walks on the stage with her sword pointed at Akane while they rehearse to display her resolve.
Melt seeks Himekawa’s opinion on who is a better actor, Kana or Akane. Himekawa explains that both have contrasting approaches to acting but are equally talented. However, Himekawa confidently announces that Kana will defeat Akane this time since Hemekawa is her partner.
The Tokyo Blade 2.5D stage play begins
The episode shifts to Abiko, Kichijouji, and GOA arriving to watch the Tokyo Blade stage play. While the former is nervous, GOA reassures her about being confident in the actors’ skills. Ruby, Mem-Cho, Gotanda, and Miyako are also seen attending the play, and Gotanda hopes Aqua’s trauma will not be triggered while he performs on the stage. Backstage, Kana and Akane face each other where they admit they have been looking forward to working together yet winning against each other.
Meanwhile, Aqua looks at Ai’s picture, which triggers him, but he collects himself and seems confident to give his best on the stage. The episode ends with the Tokyo Blade 2.5D stage play about to begin.
