The chapter starts with Nova listing why the Many Ears Tribe is a greater tribe than any other. He then expresses anger at someone like Iruma being king just because he is related to Sullivan. However, Asmodeus and Clara disapprove of Nova’s attitude.
However, he remains adamant and blames the chief for being so subservient to higher demons. The chief explains that their subservience is for the good of their survival. But Nova tells him to get rid of the old idea that the Many Ears Tribe can do nothing but listen. He also rejects the idea of the settlement, comparing it to a cage.
When he looks at Iruma, he sees him smiling and is confused. The protagonist tells him that he reminds him of his mentor, who had inspired him to take this exam. He tells the chief that he can’t become the king immediately since he knows nothing about the place.
